ARCHITA GUESTHOUSE
(Archita/Arkeden), Transylvania
website for reservations

Located in the 'Saxon Triangle' of Transylvania, Archita/Arkeden was once the area richest merchant village until communist times. It was eventually depleted of its 'Saxon' population. The inn is located on the village main square.

UNIQUE APPEAL
The area is quite, remote from main road traffic with farmlands and forested hillsides. The village retains special 'Saxon' architectural qualities and a superb fortified church - as does the 100yr old guesthouse restored in 2007-2008.

LOCATION/ACCESS
It's easy to reach from Sighisoara going eastward about 10+ km on main road to Brasov then turn east toward Mureni and continue about 10km on paved and then unpaved road to Archita. Local trains service the village from Sighisoara (30mn) and Brasov about 2 1/2 hrs).

SERVICE & ORDER
Informal check-in. Limited room service. Well maintained rooms and help-yourself service to drinks and snacks.

COMFORT
The Inn is an elegantly facaded 'Saxon' building with an entry into a old-fashion courtyard. Four bedrooms each have en-suite bathrooms.

CULINARY QUALITIES
Local fare served in a traditional farm-rustic setting.
