

Growing rapidly in recent years as a popular countryside destination with numerous pensions available to visitors, the valley stretching southward retains much of its rural character. Hay, fruit trees, sheep raising for wool and cheese, are local farming activities.
More recently, efforts have been made to protect open areas in Bran and nearby communities. This included work by the London-based INTBAU (see) group whose patron is HRH Prince Charles.
